Hi again! Here I am with part 2 of our dream vacation to Greece + Italy.
We landed in Naples, Italy late at night after an amazing week in Greece. Below, I break down some of our favorite parts of Italy, our itinerary and some tips and tricks.
My heart goes out to the Italian people during the COVID-19 outbreak and my heart is with them during this time. We hope to go back someday and explore more of their gorgeous country.
Here is our adventure in Italy!
Thanks for following along.
Sorrento, Italy
We arrived late at night in Sorrento. We ordered a late night meal to our hotel room, I had to fully immerse myself the moment I arrived. I ordered some gnocchi and it hit the spot after a long day of traveling.
Hotel Capodimonte was a luxurious add-on to our trip but I do not regret it one bit! Check out that pool. We honestly could have stayed just at the hotel for days and had an amazing time. There was at least a dozen places to hang out and enjoy the scenery of Sorrento. In the humid mist you could see the volcano in the distance, which was really cool!
One of the most amazing things I loved about this city was how every corner, was different. Italy gives a new meaning to charm. Greece often has the same architecture and style but in Italy, you turn and there is something more beautiful than the last.
We felt Italy was dirtier than Greece but it was a con I was willing to have after looking at all of this beauty. We had to really prioritize when it came to Italy. We technically had one day less than we had in Greece. We spent one full day exploring everything that Sorrento had to offer and utilizing that pool. The shopping and downtown of Sorrento was seriously straight out of a movie.
Our second day in Italy, we booked an Amalfi Coast private tour through our hotel, which I’m going to talk more about below. PLEASE, ask for Enzo, he is literally the sweetest old Italian man. I wanted to take him home!
Positano, Italy
Our first stop on our trip along the coast was Positano, which I was probably looking forward to the most. Those houses and restaurants right on the coast have made my heart light up for as long as I can remember! We actually chose to not stay in Positano because literally everything is a 90 degree angle up and down. I am very glad we didn’t after walking around for a few hours.
It was such a beautiful city bustling with art and lemon everything! A fun fact is that the beaches are black volcanic rock, we are on the same side as the volcano.
Amalfi, Italy
We made a pitstop in Amalfi for lunch which was so romantic! We sat right on a terrace over looking the Amalfi Coast – straight out of a movie!
Enzo stopped a lot so I could take as many pictures as I wanted and he told us all about the historical landmarks. Such as the towers and Mother Mary rock – try to see if you can find them above!
Ravello, Italy
